A longtime family-run pizzeria will open another restaurant next month in Pasadena. Spanky's Pizza & Bar is in the process of finishing up renovations and will unveil the new digs in November, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Spanky's will take the place of Gabby's BBQ at 4010 Spencer Highway, the former Gabby's BBQ location, which was operated by the same owners of Spanky's. The restaurant has undergone renovations, including the installation of a custom bar, and will be ready to welcome customers soon. Spanky's will serve a wide selection of pizza and pasta, along with burgers, sandwiches, salads, and starters, plus beer and cocktails, as Houston Press reports.

Spanky's has been around since 1976, operating on Houston's southeast side until a fire in 2014 forced the restaurant to relocate around the corner to its current location at 4659 Telephone Rd., another shuttered Gabby's BBQ restaurant, as previously reported.
