Biggio’s Sports Bar Takes Shape At Marriott Marquis

The Astros legend’s swanky sports bar will debut next month.

A totally appropriate bar.

Just in time for the Super Bowl, Astros legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Craig Biggio will open his first-ever sports bar, and construction is already underway on the project at Downtown’s Marriott Marquis hotel.

Announced back in April, photos posted to Marriott Marquis’ Facebook page indicate that construction is coming along swimmingly on the new bar. Currently in the works is a bar adorned with plenty of baseball bats, a testament to Biggio’s reputation as one of the best sluggers of his era.

Biggio’s will bring an upscale feel to the traditional sports bar while still offering plenty of TVs to watch the Astros play and some of Biggio’s own sports memorabilia will adorn the massive two-story space’s walls.

You’ll also probably be able to spot Biggio at his eponymous bar occasionally, too, thanks to its proximity to Minute Maid Park. And, considering the dearth of dining options in the area, you’ll also be able to celebrate a big win with some solid grub and good booze.

No official opening date has been released, but you can expect to drink your first beers at Biggio’s at some point in November.
