OMFG: Shake Shack Debuts In Houston This Week

There’s going to be a Lockhart link burger

Shake Shack

Praise the burger gods — as of next week, Houston will officially be home to Danny Meyer’s beloved burger chain.

Announced via release, Shake Shack will open its first Houston location at 5015 Westheimer in The Galleria this week, just across from the brand new “Jewel Box” structure. After this month’s pop-up at The Pass & Provisions attracted more than 1,200 Houstonians, you can bet that the lines are going to be serious, even considering the massive confines of The Galleria.

As with all Shake Shack locations, the Houston outpost will feature a menu of items created with favorites from local purveyours. Sausage from Kreuz Market will top the Lockhart Link Burger, and Fluff Bake Bar’s devil’s food cake and seasonally-available pies will be whipped into creamy concretes. Of course, you’ll also find a Vietnamese Coffee & Donuts concrete, mixed with pastry from Morningstar and Greenway Coffee.

The doors officially open at 11 a.m. on November 4. The second Houston outpost of Shake Shack, planned for Rice Village, is still set to debut late next year.
