Regulars at Sanctuari Bar, the cocktail hotspot inside Triniti Restaurant, will recognize a familiar face when they order up their cocktails.
Announced via release, Akiko Hagio has returned to Sanctuari Bar, which she helped open back in 2014 alongside new Moving Sidewalk bar whiz Leslie Krockenberger. Prior to her time at Sanctuari, Hagio spent three years behind the bar at Beaver’s.
Next week, Hagio will debut her brand new menu for Sanctuari, which will feature 12 new cocktails divided into two categories. The “On The Fly” libations will feature “approachable twists on classic cocktails,” and the “Off The Chain” side of the menu will serve up more intricate and complex cocktails for the experienced craft cocktail enthusiast.
You may also recognize a few familiar drinks from the opening menu at Sanctuari, like the Clear Chocolate Martini. Hagio will add a significant number of Japanese whiskeys to the spirits offerings, and bring an aperitif-focused Happy Hour menu. As you can see, plenty of changes are in store for this popular cocktail haunt.
“It’s really exciting for me to have my own program and put out my own vision of cocktails,” said Hagio in a statement. “We are going to cover all of the bases elegantly and deliciously, and add in some fun new things. I want to bring Sanctuari back to what it was, and hopefully make it better.”
Hagio’s cocktails will debut on the menu in the coming weeks. In the meantime, stop by and buy her a shot to congratulate her on her homecoming.
