Authorities don’t think the fire started spontaneously

Approaching its one year anniversary in Houston, the Midtown outpost of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has sustained significant damage after an early morning blaze.

According to KHOU, the fire started around 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, ripping through the business and causing a massive amount of damage. The blaze was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured, but authorities believe that the cause of the fire may be “suspicious.”

According to surveillance video shared with Houston police by Oporto Fooding House, a vehicle was parked outside the restaurant just before the fire started. It’s difficult to tell where exactly the fire started, but witnesses say that the flames “appeared to flare up” at the front of the restaurant and not, say, the kitchen where blazes frequently begin.

Footage of the fire (and suspicious vehicle) have not been released to the public just yet.
