— Visiting Houston on her The Music...The Mem’ries...The Magic tour, Barbra Streisand gave Killen’s Barbecue a major shout-out from the stage this weekend. According to CultureMap, Streisand said that she was looking forward to a plate of ribs and creamed corn from the famed Pearland barbecue joint after the show.

— Early Thanksgiving morning, the El Tiempo Cantina outpost was completely destroyed after a fire ripped through the building. KHOU reports that it took between 50 and 60 firefighters to battle the blaze, though ultimately it appears that the building is a total loss. No word yet on whether or not the company will rebuild in Katy, but owner Roland Laurenzo sent out a statement over the weekend saying that the restaurant’s employees have been rehired at other locations.

— If you’re looking for an easy way to do a little good this holiday season and justify ordering delivery, Favor will donate a percentage of each delivery fee at participating restaurants (including Dish Society, The Burger Joint, and District 7) from November 28 to December 4 to the Houston Food Bank.

— After shuttering The El, Delicious Concepts has rebranded the restaurant at 602 Studewood as Ritual, a concept that will pair “New Gulf Coast cuisine” from Chef Crash Hethcox and fancy cocktails prepared with scratch-made mixers and boutique spirits from beverage director Peter Clifton. The “nose-to-tail” restaurant will prominently feature butchery and dry-aged meats, and is set to make its official debut on November 29.
