After firmly establishing himself as the king of Houston’s suburban restaurant scene, Ronnie Killen was set to bring his first restaurant inside the city limits today. Now, it appears as if that’s not going to happen.
This morning, multiple outlets reported that STQ would make its debut at 2231 South Voss this afternoon, but a post to the restaurant’s Facebook page indicates that the opening has been pushed back for undisclosed reasons.
Check out the post below:
Opening soon ... but not today as originally planned. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience!

Originally expected to arrive by the end of October, the restaurant will marry the two concepts that made Killen such a success in Pearland — steak and barbecue — in the space formerly occupied by Randy Rucker’s Bramble. "This is the type of food I really like to cook," said Killen in a statement. "I'm excited about visiting the local farmers markets. The menu will be more farm-to-table than our other concepts."
Eater has reached out to a representative for Killen for more details on the delays and an updated timeline — stay tuned.
