It’s been a year of major imports to Houston’s restaurant scene, and it looks as if that trend isn’t going to slow down anytime soon. With restaurants like Nobu, NOLA chef John Besh’s Eunice, and so many more on the way, there’s plenty to look forward to on the savory side of the food scene. Now, a sweet new addition will make its way to Space City in the coming months.
CultureMap Dallas reports that Carlo’s Bakery, the New Jersey-based sweet shop that earned fame on reality TV show Cake Boss, will make its way to Houston in the coming months. No details have yet been revealed on where exactly the famed pastry shop will land, but there is a Houston outpost listed as “coming soon” on the Bakery’s website.
Earlier this year, Carlo’s Bakery opened its first Texas outpost in Dallas, and pastry enthusiasts promptly lined up to try its famed lobster tails, a cannoli that resembles its namesake, stuffed with cream. Carlo’s is also known for its elaborate custom cakes, something that fans of the show Cake Boss are likely already aware of.
Carlo’s Bakery is expected to make its Houston debut in Spring 2017. Eater has reached out to the bakery for more details on when exactly you’ll be able to line up and get your hands on one of those delicious lobster tails.
