Football players are known for seriously lavish dinners — earlier this year, Dallas Cowboys rookies dropped more than $55,000 at a local steakhouse — and the Houston Texans are no exception.
TMZ reports that at a “fancy team dinner,” the Texans’ lineup of defensive backs racked up more than $16,000 in steak, booze, and sides at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on Monday night. As is customary, a rookie got stuck with the bill, and this year, that honor went to newcomer K.J. Dillon. Dillon tweeted about getting “stuck” with the bill, but it appears as if that missive has since been deleted.
At least the Texans have pretty solid taste in cognac. Over the course of the night, the team ordered 22 snifters of Hennessy Paradis Imperial, racking up a tab of $7,700 in booze alone. Hopefully, it will all be out of their systems before the Texans take on the Bengals on Saturday night.
