If you’ve heard the rumors that iconic Houston Tex Mex (and prime rib) spot Laurenzo’s was plotting a second location in Houston, those whisperings have officially been confirmed.

The Houston Press reports that Laurenzo’s will open a second outpost in Midtown at 1910 Bagby in the former Republic Smokehouse & Saloon. As owner Domenic Laurenzo told the Press, the restaurant is a partnership between Laurenzo and Landmark Hospitality Group, which currently holds the lease for Suite 100, where the restaurant will open its doors.

In order to make the new space fit the restaurant, which will seat about 300 diners, construction is underway to make a “few minor cosmetic changes.” Laurenzo’s will “streamline” its massive menu to include about 40 different offerings, including its famous prime rib and Sunday gravy. Most excitingly, the restaurant will stay open until midnight on the weekends (Thursday through Sunday) and serve up a limited menu of late-night fare.

Laurenzo’s Bar & Grill is set to make its debut in Midtown on January 23.
