We’re officially in the midst of a full-scale gelato boom in Houston as Sweet Cup plans to set up shop at a second Houston location.
A post to Sweet Cup’s Facebook page announces that the gelato shop will bring its second outpost to Ella Plaza in Garden Oaks next year. “We’ve had lots of feedback on where customers would like to see our product and brand, and Garden Oaks is a neighborhood and community we'd love to be a part of,” reads the post. “And we know many other customers have voiced their hopes of seeing us throughout the city and greater Houston area - which we hope to in the future!”
Over the last several months, Houston’s frozen treats scene has continued to get stronger and stronger. Perhaps it began with the arrival of Amorino Gelato, the swanky European shop that brought gorgeous, highly Instagrammable flowers made of ice cream to River Oaks. Then last month, Austin’s Dolce Neve announced that they would bring their own much-beloved gelato to Space City early next year.
Clearly, it’s a great time to be in Houston if you’re a serious gelato fan. Stay tuned for SweetCup’s Garden Oaks debut in Spring 2017.
