Over the past year, Houston has gotten (or will get) a ton of imports from other cities, like Austin’s Hopdoddy and Chi’Lantro, Dallas’ Cane Rosso, and NYC’s Shake Shack. Now, a New Orleans coffee shop will bring its espresso and crepes to Clutch City.

Swamplot reports that the former Tasti D-Lite space in the Post Oak shopping center has been transformed into Houston’s first Merchant, near Berryhill Baja Grill and Five Guys Burgers and Fries. As Swamplot notes, permits to remodel the space have been issued in recent months, which means that it may be a few months before Merchant makes its official debut.

The restaurant is known for its coffee drinks, freshly-made crepes, and a selection of wines — as if the “Coffee, Crepes, Grapes” tagline didn’t give it away. According to Eater New Orleans, the restaurant was voted NOLA’s best breakfast earlier this year, and a selection of light dishes will be on offer during lunch.

Eater has reached out to Merchant NOLA for more details on its Houston arrival — stay tuned.
