Inside Laredo Taqueria on Washington, 8:00 AM

It's nearly 8:00 a.m. and you're in a line, a very long line, too long of a line in fact if there's not gold at the end of this rainbow. But there is - you're at Laredo Taqueria and you're surrounded by patiently waiting early risers, commuters, construction workers, moms and kids. Everyone here is on the same mission: breakfast tacos.

All of the tacos are less than $3 bucks and the list of choices is expansive and all tacos have an option of homemade corn or flour tortillas and with or without refried beans. The spicy potato, eggs with chorizo and barbacoa are perennial standouts. If you brave the longest lines on the weekend you can also get a dose of menudo, also something to write home about. Pro tip for next football season: Coffee is free on Mondays if the Texans win.
