If you’ve been to one sports bar, you’ve been to pretty much every sports bar. Or at least that’s the conventional wisdom. A new concept coming to Houston from Baton Rouge, though, doesn’t at all agree.
Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar has announced plans to bring ten locations of its distinctive sports bar concept to H-Town in the coming years. Walk-On's is known for its Louisiana-style fare, rowdy game day atmosphere, and cheerleading uniform-clad waitresses, and has been voted the #1 sports bar in North America by ESPN.
At present, Walk-On’s is still scoping out the perfect location for its first foray into H-Town. At present, there are eight Walk-On’s locations operating in Louisiana, and Texas-based locations in Lubbock and Tyler are currently under construction.
Last year, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his wife Brittany became co-owners of the concept, perhaps fueling the sports bar's aggressive expansion plan in Houston and beyond.
Expect the first Houston outpost of Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar to open its doors by the end of 2016.
