Just over a year after opening modern American spot Davis Street At Hermann Park in the Museum District, Chef Javani King has officially departed the restaurant.
A sharp-eyed tipster pointed Eater to King’s Instagram account, where announced both his departure and his plans for the future:
Alongside the catering, consulting, and private chef business, King also has plans to open a food truck that will showcase his "handcrafted Southern street food" in the coming months, though no timeline for that opening has officially been set.
In the meantime, you can catch King at Houston Black Restaurant Week, where he'll prepare small bites for Nosh, a showcase of the city's best caterers and other chefs not currently in a brick-and-mortar space.
