For lovers of authentic French fare, Toulouse’s arrival to Houston comes none too soon. The casual bistro from Lombardi Restaurant Concepts has long been in the works, but the concept will officially kick open the doors in the coming days.

Announced today via press release, Toulouse’s first Houston location will officially open its doors on April 4. The Houston location is the third Toulouse restaurant in Texas, with an outpost in Austin and the original location in Dallas.

The menu is straightforward, classic French cuisine – think moules frites, beignets, and escargots drenched in Pernod butter – prepared by Houston’s own Phillipe Schmit. Prior to accepting the executive chef gig at Toulouse, Schmit earned raves for Phillipe Restaurant + Bar before leaving the concept in 2013.

Dinner service begins on Monday, April 4, with lunch and brunch service beginning the next day. In the meantime, scope out Toulouse’s dinner menu below, and brush up on your French vocabulary.
