Less than five months after opening, Chicago-style pizza spot D’Marcos Pizzeria has officially closed its second location on Memorial Drive. Despite the fact that D’Marcos has earned raves for its freshly-fired pies, it appears as if the timing just wasn’t right for an expansion.
A statement posted to D’Marcos Pizzeria’s Facebook page tells the story:

Owner Demarco Jenkins brought recipes from Mama Rigetta’s in Chicago, his favorite deep dish spot, to Houston in 2014 with the first D’Marcos Pizzeria in Sugarland. The Memorial location followed in late October 2015.
In response to the statement, a number of D’Marcos Pizzeria fans supported Jenkins’ decision to take more time for his family. "Totally understand and agree with your decision to put family first! D'Marcos has the best pizza and you will be missed in our neighborhood," read one comment on the Facebook post. "The door is always open when you can open a second location."
