The tragic loss of Prince, both a musical and cultural icon, was felt deeply by millions around the world, including two of Houston’s most talented mixologists. This weekend, Helen Greek Food and Wine’s Lainey Collum and Judith Ann Piotrowski of Zimm’s will host a Prince-themed party to celebrate the life of a legend.
On May 1 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Collum and Piotrowski will serve up Prince-themed libations while celebrating all things Prince at the first-ever installment of Zimm’s guest bartender series. The Purple One’s most popular tunes on loop, and a menu of Prince-inspired cocktails, like the Pussy Control, mixed with Avua Amburana, lemon, egg white, and gold flakes, will be on offer.
Collum and Piotrowski hint that guests will want to stay around at the bar until last call because they plan to unveil an exciting surprise at the end of the night. As an added bonus, Chef Adam Dorris of Pax Americana will prepare a menu of Prince-inspired food. $2 from each cocktail sold will be donated to Girls Rock Houston, just in case you needed more incentive.
