A number of Austin eateries have been making their way to Houston as of late – Tacodeli, JuiceLand, and Hopdoddy among others – which means more delicious ways to indulge in some of the state’s best restaurants. This weekend, Austin export and “progressive Southern” restaurant Fixe continues the invasion at one of Houston's favorite bakeries – for one day only.
On Saturday, May 21, Fixe pastry chef Max Sage (whose actual middle name is Pancake) will head to Fluff Bake Bar to sell his diverse mix of sweet and savory pastries to carb-loving Houstonians. Among other offerings, Sage will be serving up saffron pancakes and pistachio ice cream sandwiches.
Notably, May 21 is the birthday of late rapper Notorious B.I.G., which inspired Sage to create “The Notorious Pig,” a gut-bomb that features pork belly bacon, egg, and cheese and a lard biscuit.
The baked goods extravaganza kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and lasts until supplies are sold out.
