One typically thinks of bowling as a low-brow experience. The white Russians, the smelly shoes, the smoky atmosphere doesn’t always add up to something you’d call fancy. But that perception is exactly the opposite of what Bowl & Barrel plans to bring to the table at CityCentre this summer.

It's long been known that the Dallas-based concept would be making its way to H-Town, but this week brings news that Bowl & Barrel is currently on track to open next month. Announced yesterday, the concept is currently hiring more than 100 employees to staff the location, which will open in the CityCentre development at 797 Sorella Ct.

The "boutique" bowling alley will feature 14 lanes in addition to its full-service restaurant, which is known for its tavern-style fare. Craft cocktails and draft beer are also on offer, which is decidedly fancier than those Miller High Lifes and fake cheese nachos you’re used to drinking at the bowling alley.

At present, Bowl & Barrel is slated to open in late June, and construction on the space has been underway since February.
