It isn’t often that one of country music’s biggest legends and the reigning king of Houston hip-hop cross paths, but that’s exactly what happened yesterday at Chris Shepherd’s Underbelly during lunch service.
A post to Shepherd’s Instagram featured a photo of Shepherd, Bun B, and Lyle Lovett, both of whom dined at his much-lauded Montrose eatery yesterday. Shepherd tells Eater that the timing of Lovett and Bun B’s lunch was totally serendipitous – they’d never met each other before, and each were dining at the restaurant yesterday without knowing the other would be there. Talk about fate.
"What an amazing lunch service having two of my favorite musicians under one roof at the same time,” Shepherd said. “I'm honored to be a Houstonian."
Shepherd was, however, mum about what the two musical titans had for lunch, but you can bet that it too included plenty of local Houston flavor.
