In keeping with the migration of restaurants from other Texas cities to Houston, Austin’s Mama Fu’s Asian House will continue taking over Houston with a plan for expansion that can only be described as ambitious.

Announced via release, Mama Fu’s first new outpost will soon open in Katy. The chain operates two locations in Houston at present, but that number is about to get a whole lot bigger. In the coming months, Mama Fu’s has confirmed 11 forthcoming locations in the area, including outposts in Clear Lake, Westlake, and Kingwood.

Time will tell whether or not the chain will stick. Mama’s first Houston location at 1574 W. Gray in the River Oaks district appears to have shuttered earlier this Spring. Nevertheless, Mama Fu’s has been widely beloved in Houston, thanks to its quick and fresh Asian fusion bowls and a bevy of gluten free options.

No details have yet been released on a timeline for when the addition 11 outposts of Mama Fu’s will open in Houston, but the Katy location will swing open the doors June 27 at 28818 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
