Generally, there’s no in between on how one feels about Houston Restaurant Weeks. Either you really enjoy the ability to dine at some of Houston’s finest restaurants at a lower-than-usual price, or you abhor the crowds of newcomers that descend on your favorite eatery.

Either way, Houston Restaurant Weeks are all about raising cash for a good cause, and this year’s installment brings some budget-friendly new changes.

CultureMap reports that this year’s Houston Restaurant Weeks will feature a new $25 prix fixe dinner option in addition to the $35 and $45 dinners of years past. Also new is a brunch offering for $20, which offers a real bargain when you consider the costs of all those mimosas.

According to CultureMap’s Eric Sandler, last year’s Houston Restaurant Weeks raised more than $1.9 million for the Houston Food Bank. The addition of this year’s lower price point is no doubt an effort to expand the impact that this event is able to have on the community.

The full list of restaurants participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks will be revealed on July 15. Perhaps you can expect to see some newcomers in this year’s lineup.
