It’s been long rumored that James Beard winning New Orleans chef John Besh would be making his way to Houston. After all, it seems like a natural fit considering both cities’ placement on the Gulf and enthusiasm for locally-caught seafood. Now, the rumor has officially been confirmed.

CultureMap reports that Besh will open Eunice, a “Cajun, Creole brasserie” at 3737 Buffalo Speedway. Besh will bring Chef Drake Leonards from his much-lauded concept Lüke to Houston, where he will serve as chef-partner.

"We are thrilled to join the diverse culinary landscape of Houston and pay homage to the cuisine of both Eunice, my hometown, as well as New Orleans,” Leonards said in a release. "We’ve been fans of Houston for a while, and honored to now have the opportunity to share our culture, which is as much about hospitality as it is about food."

Look for Besh’s new concept to land in Fall 2017.
