If you’re looking for a fancy meal alongside some killer shopping, the River Oaks District is an obvious choice. It seems as if a new restaurant concept is being announced every week in the area, and projects that have been in the works for a while are nearing completion. Next up is Steak 48.
Announced via release, Steak 48 will kick open the doors at 4444 Westheimer Road next week. The contemporary spin on the classic steakhouse will feature house-cut, "responsibly farmed" prime steaks, a raw bar with king crab legs and Hawaiian poke, and updated takes on traditional steakhouse sides, like corn crème brûlée and asparagus fries. As for the booze, a full bar will serve up classic cocktails and a varied wine list.
This buzzy new concept comes to Houston by way of Arizona, and (as expected) is larger than the restaurant’s other locations. This "next generation" restaurant features 13,700 square feet of dining space in a two-story building, a "see and be seen" bar, and a variety of private dining rooms.
Steak 48 will open for dinner on Tuesday, June 14, and you’ll want to get your reservations made early – this opening will no doubt only add to the River Oaks restaurant frenzy.
