– If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to sip fancy wines while doing your grocery shopping, the arrival of Kroger’s Cork & Tap wine bar in the Heights is certainly welcome. The newly remodeled store will bring the first Cork & Tap to Houston proper, which will offer beer & wine by the glass.

– Already a thing in Dallas and Austin, you can now officially place your Taco Cabana order online (or via the Taco Cabana app) at Houston-area locations of the fast food taco chain. Added bonus: placing your order ahead of time allows you to skip the line.

– Houston is a city that loves its wine, a fact that has landed more than 20 Clutch City eateries on this year’s Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards. Among the honorees are Chef Hugo Ortega’s Caracol, State of Grace, and La Table.

– On July 28, Houston’s own Chef Kevin Naderi will appear on an episode of Food Network’s "Beat Bobby Flay." No word yet on what the theme of this episode will be, but you can expect for Naderi to make a strong showing. Starting at 7 p.m., Naderi will host a watch party at 8th Wonder Brewery, and the first round of beer is on him.
