Yucatan Taco Stand Will Take Over The Berryhill Baja Grill Space In Montrose

Fortunately for taco enthusiasts, the recently-shuttered outpost of Berryhill Baja Grill will continue to serve everyone’s favorite tortilla-wrapped treats.

Swamplot reports that the former Berryhill is currently being transformed into Yucatan Taco Stand, a Fort Worth-based taqueria started by the original founder of Fuzzy’s Tacos. An outpost of Yucatan Taco Stand opened in The Woodlands in 2012. In 2014, the chain was expected to land in the Heights, a plan that was eventually scrapped.

As far as the menu is concerned, Yucatan Taco Stand’s fare will largely scratch the same itch as Berryhill. Tacos, burrito bowls, and (of course) margaritas are on offer, in addition to a selection of dishes inspired by the restaurant’s namesake region, like spicy fish cakes and banana leaf-wrapped tortillas.

No word yet on exactly when Yucatan will open its doors in Houston proper, but the makeover should be swift.
