Thanks to the growing popularity of craft beer, it’s never been easier to enjoy a solid IPA at your favorite bar or fill up your growler with a funky sour ale. Starting next month, a "microbrew pub" will bring an even broader selection of suds to the Houston suburbs.
Announced via release, Growler USA will officially debut at Spring Green Boulevard and FM 1463 in Katy next month. A project of husband and wife duo Lance and Jessica Mayo, the Katy outpost of Growler USA is the pub’s fourth location. The original opened in Eugene, OR, and locations have since opened in Austin and Charlotte, NC.
Growler USA bills itself as Katy’s first dedicated spot for craft beer. The concept will feature craft beers from American breweries, including (of course) Houston’s B-52 Brewing, Brash Brewing, and Karbach Brewing Company. In addition to the beer, you’ll also find cider, wine on tap, and cold-pressed coffee and kombucha, all of which can be poured into growlers for at-home enjoyment.
Food will also be on offer, including sandwiches, salads, and a mysterious selection of "beer bites." In case you need to upload a few drunken selfies and you’re running low on juice, an abundance of charging stations and free WiFi will be available.
Growler USA will officially kick open the doors on Thursday, August 11 with a grand opening celebration. The ‘burbs sudsiest new spot will be open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
