Montrose’s Byzantio Shutters, Peli Peli Expands To Austin & More A.M. Intel

– After more than a decade, beloved Greek eatery Byzantio has officially closed its doors. If you have a photo hanging on the restaurant’s walls, the owners will happily return it so that you can have a piece of the popular Montrose spot.

– Houston may be getting its fair share of imports from across Texas (and the country), but the city is also doing a bit of exporting. Eater Austin reports that Peli Peli has announced plans to expand to a swanky new outpost in Downtown ATX. Though a Katy location is currently in the works, this marks Peli Peli’s first expansion outside Clutch City.

– The newly-formed Houston Heights Beverage Coalition has gathered more than 1,700 signatures in support of allowing beer and wine sales in an oddly dry area of the Heights. Bolstered by support from H.E.B., which is currently looking to expand into the neighborhood, the group is currently awaiting certification from the city secretary.
