If you’re seriously devoted to your favorite neighborhood haunt, the arrival of the Houston Culinary Awards is as good a time as any to make your opinions heard.
Announced today, My Table Magazine has released its list of finalists for the 2016 Houston Culinary Awards. Now in its 19th year, the 2016 Awards will feature a cocktail reception with mixologists from spots like Hunky Dory and Captain Foxheart’s, along with a seated dinner prepared by five of the nominated chefs.
Among the finalists are Chef Adam Dorris, up for Up-And-Coming Chef of the Year, Bernadine’s for Best New Restaurant, and Canard for best bar program. As you may recall, winners from previous years are ineligible to win for five years after their victory, so there may be a few big names you’d expect to see missing from the list of finalists.
Voting is officially open at the Houston Culinary Awards website. You’ll have to log in to your Facebook account in order to cast a ballot, or you can opt for a mail-in copy if you’re skeptical of social media.
The winners will be announced on October 2 at The Houstonian Hotel. Tickets to the Awards are $185 (up $25 from last year!) and officially go on sale as of today.
