Suburbanite smoked meats enthusiasts, rejoice. Today, the Woodlands Barbecue Festival has announced that it will celebrate all things smoked in the suburbs next month.
The Houston Chronicle reports that this is the first year for the Festival, planned for Town Green Park. Event organizers expect sixteen pitmasters from Houston and the surrounding area to take over the Park to serve up two-ounce portions of their best ‘cue to raise cash for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
A full line-up of participants is still in the works, but The Brisket House, Spring Creek, and Pinkerton’s Barbecue are among the first to sign on. The $60 ticket includes those aforementioned 2 ounce samples, but you’ll have to purchase your own beer (craft brews and the usual suspects will be on offer) at the Festival.
Tickets for the inaugural Woodlands Barbecue Festival, held on September 25, are on sale as of this morning.
