Recently retired New York Yankees slugger Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez has plenty of time on his hands now that he’s no longer playing baseball. Which is perhaps why he was spotted today hanging out at Ouisie’s Table.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Rodriguez was spotted at the River Oaks eatery on Wednesday. A manager at the restaurant tells Eater that Rodriguez showed up around 8 a.m. for coffee and a “meeting,” though the manager didn’t have further details on why he was in Houston.
When he arrived at the restaurant, Rodriguez and his entourage were quickly whisked away to a private dining room where they would not be disturbed by the plebes in the main dining room. Ever a man of the people, diners at the restaurant were promptly told that they would not be able to ask the baseball star for autographs or photos.
Just days after ending his career with the New York Yankees, there are plenty of reasons to speculate as to why A-Rod would visit Clutch City. Perhaps he’s plotting his comeback with the Astros? (Doubtful.)
