Back in April, Eater reported that Reserve 101’s Stephen Long was working on a brand new "beer bar" for Upper Kirby. Now, Long’s suds haven has officially kicked open the doors.
Announced via release, Hops Meet Barley is open for business in the former Mission Burrito space at 2245 W. Alabama. According to Long, he chose the prime piece of real estate because Upper Kirby was in need of a solid neighborhood bar.
"I feel it’s a great time to bring a proper neighborhood bar to Upper Kirby," Long said in a statement. "We’re hoping to create an atmosphere where people can just kick back with their dog on the patio on a beautiful Houston afternoon, watch a game, and just feel at home."
In addition to a seasonally rotating selection of more than 150 beers (40 on tap!) the menu will feature comfort food faves like fried cheese curds, burgers, and pretzel sticks made by Weights + Measures.
