Fans of The Big Lebowski likely already know that David Huddleston, who played Jeffrey Lebowski (a.k.a. not The Dude) in the Coen brothers’ 1998 cult classic, passed away at age 85 yesterday. In tribute, Kenny & Ziggy’s owner Ziggy Gruber has whipped up a truly fitting sandwich.
Starting now, diners can score The Big Reubowski at both Houston Kenny & Ziggy’s locations. The gigantic burger features a Pat LaFrieda patty on challah bun topped with house-cured corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut before being drenched in Russian dressing. If only you could pair it with a White Russian.
As for the name, Gruber asked patrons and fans to submit their entries, and The Big Reubowski was a pretty obvious winner. But that’s just like, our opinion, man.
If you’re planning to strap on your bowling shoes and pay homage to the founder of the Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, Kenny & Ziggy’s seems as good a spot as any to start the procession.
