Back in January, we reported that California-based Bosscat Kitchen & Libations was scoping out a new space between River Oaks and Highland Village. Now, it’s official.

Announced via release, Bosscat Kitchen & Libations will open its second location (and first outside of California) at 4310 Westheimer Rd. H-Town was so seductive, in fact, that Bosscat’s owners, executive chef, general manager, and bar director are all relocating to “establish Houston as their new home.”

“I love Houston,” said Reed in a statement. “We had opportunities to open a second location in California, but I took a trip to Texas and just fell in love with Houston. I love how the people here really get behind localized concepts. We hope that Bosscat can be a place that’s warm and welcoming to everybody in the neighborhood.”

The restaurant will feature a swanky glass-enclosed Whiskey Room that will offer more than 350 whiskeys, and a select number of “whiskey lockers” for VIP guests. An adjacent “mini-rickhouse” will allow those with the cash to purchase a whiskey locker to craft and barrel their own aged cocktails.

As far as food is concerned, the menu is inspired by local ingredients (44 Farms beef, Black Hill Meats pork), and will feature comforting dishes dishes like a barbecue porchetta sandwich, burgers, and Cajun-spiced brick chicken.

The restaurant is expected to land sometime this fall.
