Forthcoming craft beer venture Sigma Brewing Company has set the date. The long-awaited taproom in East Downtown is slated to debut on September 30 with half-priced beers and food trucks on-site to soak up the copious suds. Beer lovers can expect a New Zealand IPA and an american pale ale on tap.

Sigma had initially hoped to open by the end of 2015, but as typically happens, the business faced delays. The brewhouse is located close to a light rail station and the BBVA Compass Stadium, making it a choice spot for capturing overflow from Houston’s professional soccer games. The 4,300-square-foot operation will focus on small-batch beers with the aim of brewing approximately 1,000 barrels over the next year. Around 1,200-square-feet are dedicated to the taproom.

Sigma Brewing Company will open Thursday through Monday. 3118 Harrisburg Blvd.
