A Restaurant That Focuses Entirely On French Fries Is Coming To Houston

Houston has its fair share of specialty restaurants — including a new spot where ice cream stuffed into a cone-shaped doughnut is the only thing on the menu — but a new concept that focuses exclusively on the humble french fry might be the most bizarre yet.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Get Fried, a New York-based chain that serves up a variety of topped french fries, will open its first Houston location at the Marq*E Entertainment Center. The Houston outpost of Get Fried is the chain’s first Texas location, and joins a food truck that currently operates in San Antonio along with planned outposts in Buffalo, NY and New York City.

As far as the menu is concerned, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of fries (including waffle, sweet potato, and curly fries) and garnish them with everything from mozzarella and pepperoni to truffle oil and parmesan. There’s also an arguably “Texas-style” offering, featuring melted cheese, bacon, and chili powder. In addition to the fries, you’ll also find “pizza logs” and “crunch rolls” stuffed with buffalo chicken and cheese.

No word yet on when Get Fried (#GetFried?) will make its Houston debut. In the meantime, you’ll have to settle for one of approximately one billion other options in Houston for a plate of cheese fries.
