If there is one dominant figure in Houston’s coffee scene, it’s got to be David Buehrer. Along with business partner Ecky Pabranto, Buehrer’s Greenway Coffee, Blacksmith, and Morningstar Coffee & Donuts have earned heaps of acclaim from caffeine enthusiasts. Now, the duo will expand their coffee empire once more.

Houston Food Finder reports that Buehrer and Pabranto will soon open Prelude Coffee & Tea in the new Hines tower at 609 Main in Downtown Houston. The shop will serve up its top-notch espresso drinks and a full program of matcha beverages, along with an assortment of pastries delivered fresh from Morningstar Coffee & Donuts.

“It is beyond time that downtown workers and residents are able to experience the culture and community-building vibe a global espresso bar can offer in a shop location that is more accessible during the workweek,” said the duo in a statement. Considering how many people live and work in Downtown, there really can never be too much coffee in the neighborhood.

At present, the shop is expected to make its debut in May.
