The only way to make gelato better? Put it on a stick. That’s the theory behind NYC-based chain Popbar, which is expanding to Houston. The Houston Press reports that the gelato popsicle shop is opening its first Houston location on Thursday at Baybrook Mall.
Popbar will offer a rotating selection of 40 different pop flavors, including vegan options. There will be everything from frozen hot chocolate to green tea or pumpkin pie, and drizzle on sprinkles or more toppings too. There also Popwiches, or gelato sandwiches on a stick.
There’s a chance for one lucky Houston resident to win free Popbars for a year too: that will be one of the prizes at the grand opening festivities on Saturday, November 18, along with a free popsicle for the first 100 customers. More locations are coming to Houston too in the coming months, according to the Houston Press.
