The food options at the Shops at Greenway inside the Greenway Plaza complex are about to get even more enticing. Houston couple/barbecue powerhouse duo Patrick Feges and Erin Smith announced today that they will debut Feges BBQ early next year in a 1,400-square-foot space in the complex’s food court.
A Houston barbecue restaurant for Smith and Feges has been in the works for quite awhile, and then this opportunity presented itself. “It allows us to get our foot in the door making barbecue every day, develop a following and really learn what we don’t know yet,” Smith said in a press release.
A larger concept is still in the works, though. Feges BBQ hopes to follow in the footsteps of eateries like Greenway Coffee and Rice Box, which went on to more standalone projects after getting a start at Greenway Plaza.

When the new Feges BBQ outpost opens in early 2018, the counter-service restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Breakfast at Feges will mean biscuits and gravy with brisket and breakfast tacos. But lunch is the main event. Expect to find barbecue staples like ribs, brisket and house-made sausage, along with pig wings, beef belly burnt ends and even a whole hog on occasion.
