There’s a legal battle brewing at Frenchy’s, one of Houston’s finest fried chicken spots and a particular favorite of Beyoncé. Law360 reports that Percy Creuzot of Frenchy's Chicken filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against attorney Thomas Deon Warner and his firm Warner & Associates PLLC, which had represented Frenchy's for 25 years.

Creuzot alleges negligence on the part of Warner in drafting a contract with an investor, Wellington Yu — a move that allegedly cost Frenchy's $1.2 million or more in damages.

According to Law360, Creuzot alleges that Warner failed to vet Yu properly, and didn't tell him about lawsuits that Yu had been involved in the past. He's also alleging that Yu never paid the full $250,000 of his ownership interest in the family business. When Creuzot tried to regain that ownership interest, he learned Yu had sold it to a third party. The third party allegedly told Creuzot he would have to pay $600,000 to regain control of the company. Creuzot alleges that Warner's firm failed to take the legal steps necessary to prevent this from happening.

Creuzot is bringing charges for negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and conspiracy to breach fiduciary duty.
