It’s that time of the year again — the Eater Awards have returned for the eighth year in a row, and we’re honoring the most exciting new eateries and most talented chefs and bar professionals in the business.
For those new to the Eater Awards, here’s how it works: all 24 cities in the Eaterverse (and our big sister, Eater.com) will award prizes in a variety of categories, including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Design of the Year, and others. Readers can make sure their voices heard by voting for a reader’s choice winner in each category, which entitles the winning restaurant or chef to unlimited bragging rights and the undying love of Space City’s most discerning diners.
In each category, Eater staff will choose an editor’s choice winner, who will be the lucky recipient of one of our beloved tomato can trophies. And, over the course of the next year, Eater Houston will take a behind-the-scenes look at the city’s most outstanding restaurants and industry provessionals via in-depth, splashy features on each Eater Award winner.
Winners of the 2017 Eater Awards will be announced on December 5. Without further ado, it’s time to vote in the first category: Restaurant of the Year. Cast your ballot for Houston’s best restaurant of 2017 below. The polls will be open for 24 hours, and will be strictly monitored to avoid any voting irregularities.
