After opening three locations in Space City, Hopdoddy Burger Bar could possibly bring a fourth outpost to Houston’s CityCentre.
A hawk-eyed tipster pointed Eater toward a filing with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts that registers Hopdoddy CityCentre as a taxable entity. That registration was filed in early December, but a representative for Hopdoddy tells Eater that the chain is currently in the process of “exploring opportunities” for expansion in Houston, but no leases have been signed just yet.
When Hopdoddy made its Houston debut just last year in River Oaks, the chain was met with lengthy lines of burger enthusiasts. Subsequent openings haven’t been quite as dramatic, but Hopdoddy has cultivated a relatively dedicated following and a solid average of 3.7 stars in thousands of Yelp reviews. Whether or not that enthusiasm for the restaurant will endure as the chain continues its Houston takeover remains to be seen.
