What is currently a 1,600-square-foot metal warehouse in Garden Oaks across the street from Crowbar will soon make way for a new neighborhood brewery. Houston Business Journal reports that Walking Stick Brewing Co. will open in mid-2018 at 957 Wakefield Drive, in a lot that currently looks pretty industrial.
The brewery is set to offer a taproom with room for 100 guests along with a kitchen and a patio, according to owner Andy Dunn and his business partner Ramon Duran.
The ingredients in Walking Stick Brewing Co.’s beers will boast an interesting provenance: blackberries, blueberries, grapefruit, and coriander will come from a farm that Dunn owns in Florida.
Meanwhile, the beer’s names are inspired by another state entirely. The Houston Business Journal that each brew will be named after a different mountain peak in the Rocky Mountains.
