In addition to its Greenway location, Cavo Coffee will expand to a second outpost in the River Oaks District.

The new caffeine destination at 4444 Westheimer (near Hopdoddy Burger Bar) was spotted setting up shop yesterday. From the looks of things, the Cavo outpost at River Oaks will be more of a coffee bar or “pop-up coffee shop” in the neighborhood, as it appears to occupy an open-air space inside the ritzy shopping and dining development. There, it will join Amorino Gelato, Steak 48, and the rest of the River Oaks District’s upscale dining and drinking options.

Open at Greenway Plaza since May 2017, Cavo Coffee is a project of Siphon Coffee co-founder Michael Caplan. The spot is known for its beans sourced from Houston’s own Amaya Roasters and Portland’s Heart Roasters, and made by using the siphon method that gives Caplan’s first coffee shop its name. Caplan is also expected to expand Cavo to a third location in West University, but no address for that project has been announced yet.

Cavo Coffee is expected to make its River Oaks debut in December. Stay tuned for an official opening date.
