This Weekend, You Can Try Dolce Neve’s Gelato Before Its Official Debut

This one-time preview is sure to sweeten your Sunday

Dolce Neve in Austin
Here’s to hoping the Houston outpost is as homey as the Austin original

Dolce Neve’s new Houston outpost is still in the works, but Houstonians will only have to wait a few more days to get a taste of the sweet shop’s delicious frozen wares.

Announced via release, the Austin-based gelateria will host a pop-up gelato party this weekend at Morningstar Coffee & Donuts ahead of its official opening date. Which means that you’ll be able to try some of the frozen treats on offer before Dolce Neve officially steps up Houston’s gelato game.

The site of the pop-up makes total sense considering that Morningstar owner David Buehrer is one of the folks who encouraged Dolce Neve to make the expansion to Houston. The shops will be neighbors in the Heights, thanks to Buehrer’s efforts to help Dolce Neve to secure its space in the shopping center. And besides, gelato and doughnuts are a pretty damn natural pairing.

The popup tasting will be held at Morningstar, 47 N Main St., on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you miss it, you’ll have to wait for Dolce Neve’s grand opening, which is set to come later this Spring.
