Bourbon based cocktail bar Julep is already known for it’s southern flavors, but until now, they’ve never gone quite as far south as Mexico City.
Announced via release, Julep will play host to one of the top 20 bars in the world, Licorería Limantour. The popup, called “Limantour De Noche”, will feature libations courtesy of Jose Luis Leon and Benjamin Padrón Novoa, the brains behind Licoria Limantour.
It’s a pretty natural fit for Julep’s Alba Huerta, who frequently draws from her love of Mexican spirits for Julep’s southern-inspired menu. Thanks to this collaboration, agave enthusiasts won’t have to cross a border to get a taste of authentic Mexico City mixology. Both bars pride themselves on modern twists to classic cocktails, so be on the lookout for familiar drinks with a modern, Mexican flair.
The popup will be open this Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM. Swing by for drinks, tacos, and tunes from tropical dance party group Bombón.
