For more than 40 years, Goode Co. has been one of Houston’s most prolific — and consistent — restaurant empires. Now, with seven eateries inside the loop, the iconic purveyor of barbecue, seafood, and killer pecan pies is headed to the suburbs.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Goode Co. has been working on outposts of Goode Co. Barbecue and Goode Co. Cantina & Kitchen to open in The Woodlands since April 2016, and the project is now reaching its final push to opening day. Construction on both restaurants, which will sit side-by-side at the intersection of Research Forest & Six Pines Drive, is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2017.

The power duo of restaurants will serve up the “trinity of regional Texas food” with its blend of smoked meats, Tex-Mex favorites like fajitas, and Gulf seafood. "The common thread between our restaurants and concept is regional Texas fare," Goode Co. owner Levi Goode told the Chron. "Fajitas and Mexican food are very much a staple in the diets in myself and fellow Texans, as well as BBQ - they fit very well together.”

Goode Co. Barbecue and Good Co. Cantina & Kitchen are expected to debut in The Woodlands by early summer 2017, at which time Houston-area suburbanites won’t have to drive all the way into the city in order to enjoy a plate of that classic barbecue.
