In addition to his reality TV celebrity, DFW-based chef Tim Love has long been building a restaurant empire in Texas and beyond. Love currently operates restaurants in Fort Worth, Denton, and Austin in Texas alone, and now it appears as if the chef will soon be making his way to Houston.

Announced via release, Love will bring his barbecue restaurant Woodshed Smokehouse to Levy Park at some point next year. In addition to Woodshed Smokehouse’s modern Texas take on smoked meats, Love will also be in charge of the concessions at Levy Park’s forthcoming food kiosk and a double-decker bus that will serve the Park’s beer garden.

"Houston is such a dynamic city with great restaurants and culture, and I'm thrilled to partner with Levy Park as we create a fun, vibrant food and beverage experience for the neighborhood," Love said in a statement. "The renovation of the Park marks an exciting time of growth for Houston, and I look forward to serving the community and celebrating this special city with my fellow Texans."

For those who haven’t tasted Love’s cuisine in more northerly climes, you might recognize the chef from his appearances on CNBC’s Restaurant Startup, a Shark Tank-style show on which Love invested in fledgling restaurant concepts like Seattle’s Kraken Congee.

Woodshed Smokehouse is set to debut at Levy Park by “mid-2018,” but you’ll be able to taste Love’s take on food kiosk and beer garden fare when both open later next year.
