Don’t tell a woman to calm down when tacos are involved

It’s well known that you don’t mess with tacos in Texas, but generally the state’s favorite tortilla-wrapped treat isn’t controversial enough to involve any gunshots. That is, of course, until now.

KTRK reports that on Monday, a Houston woman allegedly shot her boyfriend because he told her to “calm down” after she was served a cold taco from a truck on West Dyna. Apparently, the woman asked a taco truck employee to reheat the taco, and when he refused, she flew into a hot rage and pulled out a gun.

The man, who has not been identified, is expected to survive the gunshot wound, which may or may not have been intentional. At this point, it’s unclear whether the gun went off after the woman whipped it out, or if she intended to fire the shot. But police say that the truck did not have working security cameras, so there won’t be any video surveillance to prove whether or not the woman meant to fire the shot, or if the gun discharged accidentally.

No word yet on what kind of taco (barbacoa or pastor, perhaps?) was bad enough to shoot a guy, but one has to assume that it was a pretty serious taco infraction.
